The start of the college basketball season is only 24 hours away!  The Georgetown men's and women's teams will get the season underway with their annual Midnight Madness celebration to be held on Friday, October 16 at McDonough Arena.

This year's event, held just for students and select special guests, will have a similar look and feel to the ones of the last couple years.  ESPNU and hosts Bill Raftery and Lou Canellis will again be on hand taping the festivities, with their broadcast from McDonough set to air on Friday at 9 p.m.

The die-hard students will no doubt begin lining up early in the afternoon at McDonough.  The party outside in the parking lot officially begins at 7 p.m. with music, GUGS burgers and a giant projection screen showing highlights from the 2008-09 season.

Doors to McDonough will open at 8:15 p.m.  Much like last year, all students in attendance will get a free Georgetown Basketball t-shirt, courtesy of Jordan brand.  Performances by the GU Step Team and Groove Theory will lead up to the introduction of both the men's and women's teams, addresses by both Coach Terri Williams-Flournoy and Coach John Thompson, III.  A showcase by the men's basketball team will end the evening.
