Friday Grab Bag ...

It's a Friday in January in the Georgetown Sports Information Office - you better believe you get a grab bag of items.  We're in the middle of one season and prepping for the next already.

Let's start with a little piece of national news, today in the Washington Post the GU women's basketball team had an article about the new direction the team is moving in.  Kudos to the WaPo for recognizing the accomplishments of the RV/25 women's team ... the team leaves for Tampa right after practice to face the USF Bulls in its second BIG EAST Conference game of the season.

Meanwhile on the home front, the department is getting ready for noon-time hoops tomorrow with the No. 12/12 men's team hosting No. 13/13 Connecticut Huskies.  It's not every sports information office in the country who simultaneously is handling the media relations efforts of two top-25 teams (ESPN/USA Today) - in fact, it is only nine.  We share this particular honor with the likes of Texas, Duke, West Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan State, Connecticut, Tennessee and Florida State.

Spring is in the air!  Yes, I'm aware it's 27 degrees out (or "feels like" 15 degrees - thanks,, for the information I could have gone without), but in the world of media guides, posters and promotional materials, it's spring time.  Get excited for the spring items - just like the rest of our publications, I promise they will look awesome!
