Despite the lack of warm weather and sun, there is plenty to be excited about here at the Sun Dome as I watch shoot around. Since the last time I blogged, the women have been all over the place after a huge overtime victory to get past RV/23 Syracuse in the BIG EAST opener.
The win moved them into the national polls for the first time since 1993, we had a feature story in the Washington Post on Friday and we will be playing USF tonight on the Brighthouse Sports Network (for all those in the greater Tampa area).
It's been an exciting few days for the team and hopefully we can keep up the win streak tonight. A win at USF would pull us within one victory of the program record of 13-consecutive W's.
After what seems like months on the road, we are starting a nice long homestand this month and I encourage everyone to come out a see this team. It's a great time to be a Georgetown Basketball fan and I hope all Hoyas head to both Verizon and McDonough to see two of the most exciting teams in country.
Signing off from cloudy and cold Tampa,
Georgetown Women's Basketball
