End of the Summer

The last two days of this week have been pretty quiet around here.  A sure sign that the summer has come to an end was evident in that our weekly Bagel Day moved from Thursday to Friday.


The last two days of this week have been pretty quiet around here.  A sure sign that the summer has come to an end was evident in that our weekly Bagel Day moved from Thursday to Friday.  It's always a bit of a shock to the system.  I don't know about any of you, but Bagel Day tends to make any day a much happier day.

Many coaches and staff are taking advantage of these last quiet days of the summer to get away.  Our office is half empty as Barb is tying the knot this weekend in the WI.  Diana flew out to Chicago - how was that early flight? - this morning and I am sure there will be plenty of stories upon the return from Milwaukee.

Ryan and I have held down the fort today.  He's been doing as much advance work on the football team as he can, including a great preview of the quarterbacks.  And I've been working on some things for my new Fall sport, women's soccer.  The Hoyas play the first event of the 2010-11 calendar year on Saturday at 1 p.m. when Dave Nolan's group visits American for the season opener.

And while the end of the summer can be a bummer, the start of the year is always a fun - but hectic - time.  I'm excited because it's my first year with women's soccer.  To give you a short preview of the season, our youngest intern (that would be my daughter Meghan) sat down with Amy Speck and Kelly Steele....
