So, if you haven't already heard the song, "Fancy" by Drake is played at least once a day in the sports information office. And rightly so as far as I'm concerned! We have been fancy thus far in the 2010-11 school year with a lot of new and exciting things happening on the Hilltop. I'll give you the update in my world of publications as you enjoy the Georgetown Homecoming Weekend!
We've been really excited to showcase our fall publications. As an office, we've made a conscious branding effort with our sports using a much brighter theme than last year's dark blue look.
This is the first year we've been able to create gameday programs for men's and women's soccer. They have a great overall look and I encourage you to take a look!
While it is not the first time we have created a football gameday program, we are rolling out a new feature this year! Each home game, we will be rolling out a new poster featuring a student-athlete. The first edition features Keerome Lawrence with the back providing pertinent game information including a newly-designed two deep for the game and full rosters for both teams.
One of my favorite things about working in publications at Georgetown is the opportunity to do new things. One of my most recent projects has been to create the panels that line the new student section at soccer games. It was an honor when the soccer staff requested that I come up with something for them and it was even more exciting to work on something we had never created before. The panels that surround the student section accounted for two complete pieces that made up 100 feet (width) by 3 feet (height) each. Check out a photo from the men's soccer game when the Hoyas defeated then-No. 24 Michigan State that shows a great celebration with the student section!
It's never a dull moment here on the Hilltop. I hope I get to see some of our fans at one of the many home events we have this weekend!
