I arrived in the lobby this morning and found the girls all congregating waiting to go to breakfast. As we were waiting, someone got the idea to go around the circle and say what we were thankful for. It was wonderful to hear how much the girls cherish their friends and families. They understand how lucky they are to play basketball at Georgetown.
After a scrumptious breakfast, the girls headed to study hall and I had time to get a workout in.
When we went back to the lobby to leave for shoot around, I couldn't believe the amount of orange! Tennessee really travels, they only compare to UConn in their enthusiasm. I was so surprised I took a picture!
We went back to the Antilles School for shoot around in the afternoon. I hoped the shooting would transition into the game as the team looked good! A free throw shooting contest became epic as it seemed no one could miss in the posts against the guards. Finally a miss by the posts made them take the down and back, but it was still pretty impressive.
Pregame meal is usually the same thing of pasta and chicken, I don't think I've ever seen it change so imagine my surprise when I walked in a smelled turkey. The coaches had given us a Thanksgiving feast even though there was a game in a few hours. I don't know how the girls controlled themselves because it was tasty with green beans, turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac n chees and cranberry sauce. Let's just hope pie comes after the game!
We had a quick turnaround and took our taxi over to the arena for the game where I sit writing this blog. Hopefully I'll have a celebration picture to add to the end of the photo gallery, but for now I hope you enjoy the game and have a great Thanksgiving!
