Greetings from the press box at Ludwig Field for today's women's soccer NCAA Tournament game at Maryland.  We're about 15 minutes into a first half that has been relatively evenly played.
The Hoyas had the first chance of the game about five minutes in when a Camille Trujillo shot was blocked in the box

Maryland countered with a corner in the 10th minute that resulted in a shot that was blocked by senior defender Michaela Buonomo and a second that went high.

Wow!  Samantha Baker, whose throw-ins have become a pretty impressive feat, just took a throw-in that was cleared out of the box.  When the rebound came out, she took a left-footed shot from about 30 yards out that the Maryland keeper nearly misjudged but saved just before it came in under the crossbar.

Another great chance for the Hoyas in the 29th minute as a Baker corner bounces in the box and a header from Kelly D'Ambrisi goes just high.

Maryland takes advantage of a foul call in the 33rd minute and a Terp gets a shot off from the near side that bounces in the box just as senior goalie Jackie DesJardin comes for the saves. It takes a skip, but a Hoya defender - I couldn't see exactly who - clears the ball away and for a corner, which goes wide.

The Terps make a run after another foul call and appeared to have numbers.  What appeared to be a cross from the far side turned into a leaping save for DesJardin
