Opened in 1979, the McCarthy Swimming Pool is one of the premier swimming and diving venues in the city of Washington, DC. The McCarthy natatorium not only is home to the Georgetown swimming and diving teams, but it also benefits the University and greater Georgetown communities as well.

The pool facility was constructed as part of the $7.5 million Yates Field House. It features one 25-yard eight-lane indoor heated pool and a diving well. The 13 ft. deep diving well is equipped with a one-meter and a three-meter diving board.
