Kevin is one of 16 individual national champions in Georgetown's track history, and one of only six Hoyas to be a multiple national champion. His national championship victory in 1985 was Georgetown's first NCAA individual title since 1966. Kevin is a two-time winner of the Bunn Award for outstanding cross-country performer and three-time winner of the Gallagher Award for outstanding track and field competitor. He is a seven-time All-American, five times in indoor and outdoor events, and twice in cross-country. A six-time BIG EAST champion and four-time IC4A titlist, he qualified for the Olympic trials in both the 1500 and 5000-meter events. One of the toughest and most aggressive runners ever to wear the blue and gray, Kevin was a leader on the track and off. A fierce competitor who wouldn't back down from a challenge, he always maintained a sense of balance in his life. According to his coach Frank Gagliano, "He sacrificed a lot of personal performances for the team. There are several individual records he could have rewritten, but he chose to be a team runner." In addition, Kevin received the Duffey Scholar-Athlete Award, given to the senior who best exhibits excellence in both academics and athletics. He graduated with a degree in Economics. Upon graduation, Kevin earned an MBA at New York University and accepted a position with Lehman Brothers in Manhattan. In 1992, he moved to California, where he is now a managing director with Wells Fargo, overseeing interest rate derivative sales. A casual runner today, Kevin resides in Sonoma, CA with his wife Martha (Elko) '85 and their athletically active sons Brian (15), Charlie (12), Brad (10). Kevin King is the fiftieth athlete in the 117-year history of track and field at Georgetown to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame.
