WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Director of Track & Field / Cross Country Mike Smith has resigned, effective immediately, it was announced today.

"We are aware of the recent announcement regarding our former director of track & field and cross country," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed said. "As a department that is student-athlete centered, our principal focus now is to provide our current student-athletes with new coaching leadership as we begin the 2016-17 academic year. Information about future staffing for the program will be announced soon."
