Georgetown Athletics Partners with Synthesis Multimedia
Sept. 12, 2013
WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University Department of Athletics announced its partnership with Synthesis Multimedia on Thursday. Synthesis Multimedia will help upgrade the broadcasts for home football, men's and women's soccer and men's and women's lacrosse games live on GUHoyas.com. Over the course of the 2013-14 school year, Synthesis Multimedia Production will work with the department to stream nearly 50 home games live online.
"We're very excited about our partnership with Synthesis Multimedia Productions," said Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs Dan O'Neil. "It will be a tremendous relationship for our athletics programs and bolster our online video presence for Georgetown. We expect that our alumni and fans will be very happy with the product they see this year and in the future. It's a great step forward for our department."
The games will be broadcast live at GUHoyas.com/allaccess. The site is part of a CBS Sports Interactive initiative that provides Georgetown a platform for its live content and multimedia replays.
While Georgetown has previously streamed and recorded its sporting events on this platform, the new partnership with Synthesis Multimedia, the parent company of DMVSTREAM.COM, will elevate the production value of each piece of content, adding four camera angles, graphics, a production team, crew, camera operators, play-by-play, analysts, sideline reporters and more that will provide the viewer true "all access."
"Colleges and universities across the country have long experimented with streaming their own games and creating their own content," said Synthesis CEO and DMVSTREAM.COM founder B.J. Koubaroulis. "But as the demand for online video and live streaming increases, viewers are now expecting a television style production and to have it accessible in the palm of their hands. As we enter into this partnership with Georgetown University, it's refreshing to see a university, long known for its commitment to excellence, recognize the need for high-quality content and to put that stamp of approval on our product."
Synthesis Multimedia is a video and multimedia production company that specializes in creating video, docu-style productions, video journalism and multimedia solutions for media organizations like The Washington Post while also helping small businesses, non-profits, government agencies and others reach their target audiences.
Fans can watch the upgraded broadcasts this weekend for the men's and women's soccer games as well as Saturday's football game.
