WASHINGTON - Staff members from the Georgetown University Athletics Department traveled to North Carolina in September for The Major, a primary fund-raising effort for the program.

From Sept. 16-18, alumni, fans and friends of the Georgetown Athletics program came together at the Pinehurst Golf & Resort Club in North Carolina.

While in North Carolina, 75 golfers had the chance to visit with Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Lee Reed and Head Men's Basketball Coach John Thompson III.

A dinner was held on Friday, Sept. 16 and former Georgetown women's lacrosse All-American Sheehan Stanwick Burch provided the keynote speech.

Participants in the golf included Jamy Farrah ('04), who won low net medalist honors, the second year he has won the event. Farrah posted scores of 74-72 for a 146. The low gross medalist was Frank Lacey.

The foursome winners who will represent Georgetown in the Acura Alumni Team Championship at Pinehurst in November were Alan Leahey, Paul Donlin, Dave Cox and Bob Moore.
