Chris Tolzman joined the Georgetown University Athletics Department as a Sports Performance Coach in September 2013.
A native of Rural Hall, North Carolina, Tolzman arrived on the Hilltop after serving as the Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at American University, where he worked directly with the Eagles' men's and women's soccer, women's lacrosse and men's and women's swimming and diving programs.
Tolzman has worked at Athletic Performance Inc., where he was the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, and in the Detroit Tigers Organization, where was an Assistant Strength & Conditioning coach working directly with the West Michigan Whitecaps, a minor league affiliate.
Before his stint with the Tigers, Tolzman completed an internship at Philippi Sports Institute where he worked with professional, collegiate and high school athletes. Tolzman began his Strength & Conditioning career as a student volunteer for the Strength & Conditioning staff at East Carolina University.
Tolzman received a bachelor's of science degree in exercise sport science from East Carolina University. He is certified through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and by USA Weightlifting as a Sports Performance Coach.
Tolzman resides in Annapolis, MD with his wife Kaitlin.
