Dr. John Klimkiewicz is presently an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital. He is also one of the GU team physicians and many squads' orthopaedic surgeon working with every varsity team on campus for over a decade.
Dr. Klimkiewicz received his medical degree in 1993 from the New Jersey Medical School. He went on to complete his internship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1994 and followed up with his residency at The University of Pennsylvania Medical Center finishing in 1997.
Following his residency, Dr. Klimkiewicz did a fellowship at The University of Pittsburgh until 1998. He is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine.
Dr Klimkiewicz has published many peer reviewed articles and chapters regarding the field of knee and shoulder surgery. He has presented nationally as well as internationally on aspects that pertain to sports medicine. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He also serves as a consultant reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
Dr. Klimkiewicz's special medical interests include sports medicine, shoulder surgery, ligamentous injuries of the knee as well as cartilage and meniscal injuries.
He currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, Kim, and daughters, Alexandra and Kate.
