Luke Burtnett joined the sports medicine staff in the summer of 2015. He works with the baseball and football teams.
Burtnett completed his undergraduate degree in athletic training at Messiah College in 2013. He received his master's degree in sports medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in 2015 where he served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for baseball.
Burtnett holds his athletic training licensure from the state of Pennsylvania. He also is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is Functional Movement Screen Certified. Burtnett is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Society, the District of Columbia Athletic Trainers' Association, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Prior to completing his undergraduate athletic training degree, Burtnett earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting from Susquehanna University in 2008.
Burtnett is from Mechanicsburg, Pa., and currently resides in Alexandria, Va.
