Erin Pettinger joined the Hoya sports medicine staff in the fall of 2011, her primary sport responsibilities are men's lacrosse and administrative duties.

Erin received her undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska. In 2002 she earned a bachelor's of education in athletic training. She attended University of Miami earning a master's of education in sports administration. While at Miami, Pettinger served as an athletic training graduate assistant for the football and men's and women's tennis programs.

Before coming to the Hilltop, Pettinger was an assistant athletic trainer at Duquesne University from 2004-08 working with the volleyball, women's lacrosse and baseball teams. She also worked at the University of South Carolina in 2008 overseeing the volleyball and softball teams and did an internship with the Washington Nationals during their spring training in 2009.

Pettinger is a clinical instructor as well as being certified in Grastons Module 1. She also holds a certification in Kinesiotaping (KT 1, 2, 3). She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers' Association (MAATA) and the Virginia Athletic Trainers' Association.

A native of Beatrice, Neb., Pettinger resides in Arlington, Va.
