What is Hoyas Unlimited?

Hoyas Unlimited was established in 1970 as an organization consisting of dedicated volunteers and staff whose mission is to support excellence across all of Georgetown's 29 intercollegiate athletic programs. It is the annual fundraising arm of Georgetown Athletics.

How do I become a member of Hoyas Unlimited?

Any donation to the Georgetown Athletic Excellence Fund, to the sport club of your choice or to the athletic program of your choice qualifies you as a member of Hoyas Unlimited.

What are the different ways I can give?

There are various ways to give to Hoyas Unlimited:

3. You may also mail a check made out to Hoyas Unlimited or the sport club of your choice.
NOTE: Hoyas Unlimited accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Hoyas Unlimited also accepts stock and other securities, as well as a matching gift from your company.

How is my gift used?

Your gift funds Georgetown Athletics on a annual basis. If you choose to make a gift to the Georgetown Athletic Excellence Fund, your donation will be made to fund current student-athlete scholarships to the program. If your gift is given to a specific sport, it will increase program operating budgets to allow coaches to focus on recruiting, training, and mentoring Hoya student-athletes.

Is my gift tax deductible?

All donations to Hoyas Unlimited are tax deductible to the full extent allowable by law.  Should you exercise a right to any priority seating benefit because of your contribution to Hoyas Unlimited, only 80% of your contribution would be deductible.  Please consult your tax adviser when determining the deductibility of your contribution.

Can I still give to my favorite sport(s)?

Yes, you may still give to the sport of your choice.

What donations to Georgetown University apply to Athletic ticket priority (specifically as it relates to men's basketball tickets)?

To apply to Athletic ticket priority (specifically as it relates to men's basketball tickets), donations must be made to a division of the Georgetown Athletic Department. You may donate to the Georgetown Athletics Excellence Fund, the Hoya Hoop Club or to any of the 18 other varsity sport clubs. Donations must be made in the proper fiscal year (July 1-June 30) in order to apply to tickets.

Will I still receive communications and benefits from individual sports?

Yes, all donors who give to an individual sport receive both individual sport communications, as well as benefits. Please see the list of detailed benefits by clicking this link.

Will my favorite sport(s) still host events?

Yes, each club president has a choice to host a sport specific event(s). Please click HERE to use the Directory of Club Presidents to communicate on potential sport-specific events. Also, you can visit our calendar to see the list of all major Hoyas Unlimited events for the year.

How do I renew my membership?

Your membership is renewed when you make a gift to Hoyas Unlimited. This gift must be made between the start of the fiscal year on July 1 to the end of the fiscal year on June 30 of each year.

When is my gift due each year?

Unless your gift requires a donation to receive Men's Basketball tickets, you have from the beginning of the fiscal year on July 1st until the end of the fiscal on June 30th to make a gift.
