WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University sailing team finished ninth in an 18-boat final at the 2017 ICSA Sperry College Sailing Women’s National Championship. The Hoyas tallied 299 points over the two-day final held on the Charleston Harbor and the Cooper River in Charleston, S.C.
In the B division, the Hoyas were strong, finishing third with 114 points, just one point out of second. Following the first race of the day, the Blue & Gray never looked back, recording seven-consecutive top-10 finishes to close out the championship, including a pair of runner-up performances.
Georgetown finished 12th in the A division with 185 points.
The Hoyas will now focus on the 2017 ICSA LaserPerformance Team Race National Championships, held May 27-29. Live coverage of the national championships will be available on the official website of the 2017 ICSA Nationals.
