Georgetown Sailing Makes Final Four of ICSA Team Race National Championship

WASHINGTON - Following a double round robin with the gold fleet, a group of eight institutions determined the top eight from two previous round robins, the Georgetown University sailing team has advanced to the final four of the ICSA APS Team Race National Championships held on the Columbia River in Cascade Locks, Ore. Georgetown joins Roger Williams, Boston College and College of Charleston in the final four with races continuing through Sunday. Following the completion of the team race national championship the Hoyas will partake in the ICSA Gill Co-ed National Championship on May 30-June 1.

Through the gold fleet round robin the Hoyas went 4-3 in the first round robin and 3-4 in the second round robin. In the first round robin the Blue & Gray registered wins against Charleston, Yale, St. Mary's and Stanford while dropping contests to Roger Williams, Boston College and Hobart & William Smith. In the second round robin, Georgetown defeated Charleston, St. Mary's and Hobart and William Smith while losing to Roger Williams, Yale, Boston College and Stanford.

The Hoyas will continue competition on the Columbia River in Cascade Lakes, Ore., through the remainder of the day with the coed national championships beginning on Monday.
