Georgetown Coed Sailing Tabbed No. 1 in Sailing World's College Rankings

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown coed sailing team is ranked No. 1 in the most recent college rankings by Sailing World. The college rankings, presented by Sperry Top-Sider, are determined by an open coaches poll. This is the fifth ranking for the 2013 season.

Georgetown tops the coed rankings with 13 first-place votes with second-place Stanford picking up two votes and third-place Brown receiving four. Charleston and Boston College round out the top five. Georgetown moves up two spots since the last rankings when they were tabbed third.

In the women's rankings, the Hoyas are ranked fourth behind Yale, Boston College and Navy. Tufts rounds out the women's top five.

The Hoyas will host the Arrigan Memorial Regatta on Saturday, April 20 as well as compete at the Admiral's Cup , hosted by the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., and the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) Women's Championships in Hampton, Va.
