WASHINGTON - At the conclusion of the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) Coed Conference Championship, hosted by Cornell University over the weekend, eight additional Hoya sailors were named to the All-MAISA First and Second Teams. They join the pair of honors the Blue & Gray garnered following the women's championships the previous weekend. The coed team claimed five honorees on the All-MAISA First Team and a trio earned spots on the All-MAISA Second Team.
Seniors Albert Kraus (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) and Emily Fung (Rye, N.Y./Rye), junior Meaghan MacRae (Melrose, Mass./Tabor Academy) and sophomores Campbell D'Eliscu (Newport Beach, Calif./Newport Harbor) and Rebecca Fung (Rye, N.Y./Rye) were named to the All-MAISA First Team.
A total of 10 Hoyas earned 2016-17 All-MAISA honors as junior Rose Edwards (Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatius College Prep) and sophomore Haddon Hughes (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) earned first and second team honors, respectively, last week following the women's championships. For her efforts this season, Edwards was named the MAISA Women's Sailor of the Year.
Georgetown finished fourth at the MAISA Coed Conference Championships, held in Ithaca, N.Y., to advance to the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Coed National Championship. This is the third of the trio of spring national championships the Blue & Gray has qualified for along with the ICSA Team Race and Women's National Championships.
