Pittsburgh - The Georgetown University men's and women's swimming team completed competition at the BIG EAST Championships at Trees Pool on campus of University of Pittsburgh on Saturday evening, as the men finished sixth overall with 151 points and the women finished ninth overall with 86 points.
The Hoyas men had a strong final day as Paul Quincy, Greg Romanov and Michael Ng all made it to the finals of their respective events, while earning points to help propel GU into sixth place on the men's side.
Quincy kicked off the Hoyas strong final evening finishing ninth overall in a time of 15:40.08 in the 1650 yard freestyle. Greg Romanov finished three places behind in 16:01.69.
Michael Ng turned in another impressive performance in the 200 yard backstroke. After swimming a 1:50.94 during the preliminaries, Ng came back and swam a 1:52.09 in the finals to finish eighth in the B final and 16th overall.
Trevor Kosmo made it back for the finals on Saturday evening, swimming a 1:52.00 in the 200 yard butterfly, before finishing in 1:52.71 to take eight place in the B final to earn a point for the Hoyas.
Georgetown wrapped up the BIG EAST Championships with the men's and women's 400 yard freestyle relay, as the women finished 10th overall in 3:31.99 with Amy Ballanfant, Alanna Hulburd, Chiles and Lauren Opatrny. The men finished eighth overall in 3:03.86 with Will Lawler, Chris Finnegan, Christian Kilgore and Matthew Mandel.
