LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Georgetown University swimming and diving team finished competition at the Bucknell Invite on Sunday evening at Kinney Natatorium, as the women's team finished fourth of 10 teams with 871 points and the men's team finished fourth of nine teams with 761 points.
The Hoyas' women finished behind host Bucknell, Fordham and Delaware, while the men finished behind Yale, Bucknell and LaSalle.
Jared Vespa-Cooper got the evening started with a sixth place finish in the one-meter diving competition with 240.70 points. Nicole Tronolone followed with a fifth place finish in the 1650 yard freestyle in 17:18.63.
Allison Fulenwider earned an eighth place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:25.36.
The Hoyas had two place in the "A" finals of the 200 yard butterfly, as Jillian Carter finished fourth in 2:04.92 and Molly Gaynor finished sixth in 2:06.75. On the men's side Martin Vanin finished eighth in the 200 yard butterfly in 1:55.24.
The men closed the meet strong with a second place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay with the quartet of Leach, Matthew Mandel, Michael Smigelski and David Chung, who finished in 3:05.94 helping move into fourth place overall.
The Hoyas return to action on Saturday, December 7 when they host Howard at McCarthy Pool at 1 p.m.
