WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Georgetown University swimming and diving team continued its fall season with several more strong individual performances against William & Mary on Saturday afternoon at the Rec Center Pool. The men's team fell 115.5-84.5, while the women fell 138-62.

Senior captain Paul Quincy earned the Hoyas first win in the fourth event of the day, winning the 1000 yard freestyle in 9:36.80, just under six seconds in front of his next closest competitor. Freshman Austin Evenson finished in third place in 9:48.60. Quincy came back later in the dual meet to win the 500 yard freestyle in 4:39.80, as Evenson finished second in 4:50.56.

On the women's side, sophomore Casey Bandman picked up the Hoyas first win in the 200 yard breaststroke, two weeks after breaking the program's record in the same event. Bandman won the event in 2:31.29 to lead a GU sweep in the 200 breaststroke. Rosemary Christian finished second, while Allison Fulenwider finished third and Bailey Dowe finished fourth.

The men had similar success in the 200 yard breaststroke, as Christian Kilgore won in 2:12.62. Liuben Chipev finished second, with Brad Murray rounding out the top three for Georgetown.

The Hoyas also swept the top three spots in the women's and men's 200 yard freestyle relay. The quartet of Erin Timochenko, Lauren Ward, Fiona Kane and Erica Fabbri won on the women's side in 1:42.14. The men's team of Michael Smigelski, Mike Young, Victor Lopez-Cantera and Matthew Mandel finished first on the men's side, to help the Hoyas finish the day in strong fashion.
