Georgetown Swimming and Diving Returns to Action on Saturday Against American and James Madison
Jan. 11, 2013 WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming and diving team, fresh off its winter training trip, return to competition when they host American University and James Madison University at McCarthy Pool on Saturday afternoon. The meet begins at 1 p.m. and will be the Senior Day meet for Georgetown's 10 seniors. The Hoyas return to competition for the first time since defeating Catholic and Howard at McCarthy Pool on December 8. Georgetown started strong winning the first five events, while six Hoyas freshmen racked up six individual victories leading up to the winter break. In the fall, the Georgetown's women turned in strong performances in each of the squad's seven meets. Sophomore Casey Bandman and freshmen Maryellen Campbell and Nicole Tronoloneeach broke program records. For the men, senior captain Paul Quincy continued to be a consistent scorer, particularly in distance events. Michael Ng and Christian Kilgorealso turned in several strong performances for the Hoyas during the first half of the season. The Hoyas' meet on Saturday will be one of its two remaining meets at McCarthy Pool this season, with less than two months until BIG EAST Championships in Indianapolis.
