WASHINGTON - WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming and diving team will compete at McCarthy Pool for the last time this season on Saturday, January 18 when they host cross town rival George Washington. The dual meet begins at 1 p.m. and will mark the final home meet for the Hoyas senior class.

The Blue & Gray are coming off strong performances on Senior Day last weekend, where the men's side defeated American University and the women split, defeating AU while falling to James Madison University. George Washington most recently competed in the Rhode Island Invitational where its men's squad placed third and the Colonial women finished fourth overall.

Senior captain Paul Quincy continued his success in the pool for the Hoyas, capturing wins in the 200 yard freestyle, the 500 yard freestyle and the 200 yard individual medley. The men's team also claimed victories in the 200 yard medley relay, the 100 yard breaststroke and the top three places in the 50 yard freestyle. Diver Bryan Doremus won the one-meter and three-meter diving competitions as well.

Casey Bandman led the Hoyas to victory in the 200 yard IM on the women's side, where they took the top four spots in that event. She also placed second in the 200 yard butterfly. Erin Timochenko earned second place finishes in the 100 yard butterfly and the 200 yard backstroke.

The meet on Saturday will be the second to last meet of the regular season for Georgetown, as they compete in the rescheduled BIG EAST Quad Meet on February 9. Georgetown will then prepare for the BIG EAST Championship with the diving portion beginning on February 27 and the swimming portion beginning on March 1.
