Hoyas Celebrate Senior Day in Final Home Meet with Drexel on Saturday

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming and diving team will host Drexel in its final home meet of the 2013-14 season on Saturday, January 25, beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday's meet will be Senior Day for the Hoyas, as the Georgetown University Athletics Department recognize the squad's seven senior members.

Four women, including Rosemary Christian (Ventnor, N.J./Atlantic City), Allison Fulenwider (Rye, N.Y./Rye), Michelle Konkoly (Eagleville, Pa./Methacton) and Jen Purks (Bedford, Mass./Bedford) and three men, including Christian Kilgore (Wichita, Kan./The Independent School), Matthew Mandel (Grosse Point Farm, Mich./Grosse Point South) and Josh Tucci (Bayville, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) will compete for the final time at McCarthy Pool.

The Hoyas return home after back-to-back meets at local rivals American and George Washington last weekend. GU's men defeated American, 133-102, while the women defeated the Eagles 149-92. The men picked up a win the next day at George Washington, 136-125, while the women fell to the Colonials 160-94.5. Austin Evenson dominated the distance events, winning the 500 yard and 1000 yard freestyles. Erica Fabbri proved just as strong in the sprints, winning the 50 and 100 yard freestyles, while anchoring the women's winning 400 yard freestyle relay team.
