WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming & diving men’s and women’s teams were each selected as College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American programs for the 2017 fall semester. The CSCAA announced that 688 teams earned this honor. The teams represent 430 institutions from across all NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA divisions.
The Hoya men registered a team GPA of 3.44, tied for the seventh-highest GPA among Division I men’s teams. The GU women had a mark of 3.58, which was among the top 20 of women’s Division I programs. Both team GPAs were the highest in the BIG EAST.
For a team to be honored, it must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
The Hoyas will be back in action for their final regular season meet of the year, when they take on BIG EAST opponents Seton Hall and Providence in a neutral site meet on Saturday, Feb. 3. The tri-meet will take place at the Berkeley Aquatic Club in New Providence, New Jersey.
