Georgetown Swimming & Diving Has Program Record 28 Selected All-BIG EAST

Georgetown had a program-best 28 selected to the All-BIG EAST Team; and a league-high 16 men earn all-conference honors.

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men’s and women’s swimming & diving team had a program-record 28 student-athletes selected to the All-BIG EAST Team following last week’s BIG EAST Championships at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y.

The All-BIG EAST squad is comprised of swimmers and divers who finished in the top three in any individual or relay event at the championships. The Hoya women had 12 student-athletes earn all-conference honors, including seven who medaled in multiple events. Senior Erica Fabbri (Yardley, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) earned All-BIG EAST honors in five events, giving her a program-high total of 16 during her impressive four-year career.

The Hoya men had a league-high 16 All-BIG EAST selections, including nine who earned medals in multiple events. Sophomore Jared Cooper-Vespa (Orange, Conn./The Hopkins School) and freshman Ryan Blom (Hershey, Pa./Milton Hershey) earned medals in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions to share Most Outstanding Diver honors at the BIG EAST Championships.

Overall 84 swimmers and divers were named to the All-BIG EAST team. Forty women and 44 men complete the list. A total of 24 women and 27 men earned all-conference honors for multiple events.
