Sept. 26, 2013

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming and diving team will compete in the annual Blue & Gray Intra-Squad on Friday afternoon at McCarthy Pool, beginning at 3:30 p.m., as its final preparation for the 2013-14 season, beginning the following weekend.

The Blue & Gray Intra-Squad is a competitive, timed practice that allow captain's Christian Kilgore, Matthew Mandel and Josh Tucci on the men's side and Allison Fulenwider and Michelle Konkoly on the women's side to split the team into two groups; Blue and Gray, to give the squad's freshmen an introduction to collegiate competition.

"It's our first opportunity to race and a fun way to get our student-athletes to swim different events," Head Coach James Holder said. "There are no real expectations, just an opportunity to get out and race to see where we're at for next weekend at the Potomac Relays and Delaware."

The Hoyas will participate in the Potomac Relays on Friday, October 4 with the swimming portion of the event held at American University and the diving portion held at McCarthy Pool. The next day they travel to Newark, Del. to take on University of Delaware.
