Georgetown Swimming & Diving Return to Competition at Princeton Open
Nov. 9, 2012
WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University swimming and diving team heads to Princeton, N.J. to compete with Lehigh University, The College of New Jersey and the host Tigers at the Princeton University Swimming & Diving Open, beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. and continuing through Saturday at DeNunzio Pool.
The Hoyas return to action after last weekend's BIG EAST Quad Meet, scheduled to take place at Rutgers University, was postponed due to damage sustained during Hurricane Sandy. The unforeseen break gave the Blue & Gray an extra week of preparation during a busy fall season, that would have had GU in competition in four of five weekends since its last dual-meet with Towson on October 20.
In its last meet at Towson, the Hoyas, who are looking for continued improvement from a young squad, received just that, with its men's and women's relay quartets in both the 200 yard medley relay and 400 yard freestyle relay earned victory. Christian Kilgore won three individual events, with Michael Ng winning two. Erica Fabbri and Lauren Opatrny each won individual events at Towson on the women's side.
