Georgetown Swimming and Diving to Compete at Bucknell Invite
Nov. 21, 2013
WASHINGTON - The Georgetown men's and women's swimming and diving squad travel to Lewisburg, Pa. to compete in the three-day Bucknell Invite. Competition begins on Friday morning at the Kinney Natatorium at 10 a.m.
The Hoyas will be competing with Binghamton, Central Connecticut (women only), Delaware, Fordham, LaSalle, Penn State (divers only), Yale (divers only), Susquehanna and host Bucknell. Last season, the Hoyas women finished fourth with 983 points, while the men finished sixth with 619 points.
"This is a great opportunity for our team to see some fast swims before the holidays," Head Coach Jamie Holder said. "We have been working really hard and I expect to see some of our best results of the season. The competition is great for us and provides us much needed experience with a championship style format of three days swimming both trials and finals. This meet most closely mirrors BIG EAST Championships and the lessons we take away will be valuable come February for our championships."
The Hoyas compete for the first time since the BIG EAST Quad Meet with Rutgers, Villanova and Seton Hall on November 9. Evan Grey earned victories in the 400 yard individual medley and 500 freestyle.
