Prior to Georgetown: Johnson is an outfielder who graduated from the Episcopal School of Dallas. He played baseball and basketball in high school, where he captained both teams in his junior and senior years. At the Episcopal School, he started in centerfield and pitched on the varsity for three years. He received All-Southwest Preparatory Conference Honors all three seasons. He spent three years on the basketball team where he led the team to the Southwest Preparatory Conference championship his senior year, and was a two-time letterwinner as a wide receiver on the football team.
