WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University baseball team plays the first game in a nine-game home stand on Wednesday, March 28, hosting Navy. First pitch at Shirley Povich Field is slated for 4 p.m.

The Hoyas enter the game with an 11-13 overall record and are looking to end a six-game losing streak, including a three-game series at South Florida to open BIG EAST play last weekend. The Midshipmen enter the game with a 10-12 overall record.
Georgetown will get a chance to stay at home and play for two weeks, as the game against the Midshipmen is the first of nine-straight home games for the team. Of the team's 24 games this season, the Blue & Gray have been at home for only four all season.
Junior shortstop Mike Garza (San Antonio, Texas/Douglas MacArthur) leads the team in batting average at .381 and has driven in a team-h 20 runs. He has eight doubles, two triples and three home runs.
Junior center fielder Justin Leeson (Exton, Pa./West Chester) is second on the team in batting (.369, 38-for-103), with four doubles, two triples, one home run, 13 RBI and a team-high 11 stolen bases.
Senior outfielder Rand Ravnaas (Fort Worth, Texas/All Saints' Episcopal) is batting .298 with seven doubles, one triple, two home runs and is second on the team with 19 RBI, while senior Kevin Johnson (Peabody, Mass./Belmont Hill) is batting .303 with three doubles, three home runs and 1 RBI.
Freshman Alex Baker (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) will start for the Hoyas on Wednesday. Baker has made two starts this season and carries an 0-1 record with a 4.00 earned run average in 9.0 innings.
Navy enters the game with a 10-12 record following a doubleheader split with Princeton on Sunday. Alex Azor leads the team in batting .341 average, while Chance Jones is batting .318 and has driven in a team-high 24 runs.
Georgetown (11-13, 0-3 BIG EAST) plays its first BIG EAST home series this coming weekend, hosting Rutgers (11-10, 2-1) at Shirley Povich Field. The team's will start the series on Friday, March 30 at 3 p.m., then play on Saturday, March 31 (3 p.m.) and close out the weekend on Sunday, April 1 (1 p.m.).
