Hoya Outfielder Justin Leeson Named Third Team All-BIG EAST

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University senior center fielder Justin Leeson (Exton, Pa./West Chester) was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team at a dinner prior to the start of the conference's tournament championship in Florida.
The Hoyas finished the 2013 season with a 25-28 overall record and a 5-19 mark in the BIG EAST. The Hoyas 25 wins were the most for the program since winning 25 in the 2004 and 2005 season, respectively.
This is the second All-BIG EAST honor for Leeson, who was named to the third team last year. Leeson was selected in the 39th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft by the Kansas City Royals, taken with the fifth pick of the round and the 1,183rd overall.
Leeson fished the 2013 season batting .319 (69-for-216), with nine doubles, two triples, one home run and 23 runs batted in. He led the team in hits (69), runs scored (36), total bases (85) and was tied for the team lead in stolen bases (14).
In BIG EAST games, Leeson hit .307 (31-of-101) with two doubles, one triple, one home run and six RBI.
He finished his career playing in 188 games, with 168 starts, mainly in center field. Leeson posted a career average of .302 (207-for-698), with 134 runs scored, 30 doubles, 11 triples, seven home runs, 86 RBI and 64 stolen bases (in 81 attempts). He had a career slugging percentage of .401 and a .380 on-base percentage.
