Georgetown Baseball Adds Nine for 2014 Season

WASHINGTON -Georgetown Baseball Head Coach Pete Wilk has announced the addition of nine new Hoyas for the 2013-14 academic year, including four right-handed and two left-handed hurlers and three solid infielders to round out this year's roster. The incoming Hoyas span the States, hailing from as close as Maryland and Virginia, to all the way from Texas and California.
"We've got another strong core of players coming to Georgetown," Wilk said of the new class. "I'm very proud of the work that Coach (Curtis) Brown and I have put in to bring in a group of young guys who are talented baseball players and will be great new additions to the Hilltop."

He is still growing into a very projectable frame and his velocity and power should increase as he adds strength. Outfielder and left-handed pitcher ... 6-3, 175 ... Four-year letterwinning outfielder, pitcher and first baseman at Needham ... Drew a Cap-8 Honorable Mention recognition in 2010 and 2012 and was named Cap-8 All-Conference in 2011 ... Selected to the Bobby Murray All-Tournament team in 2012 ... Tossed a complete-game, three-hit shutout as a senior at Needham ... Also played club ball for the Canes Baseball (2010-12) ... Coached at Needham by Harry Jones, Harold Kelly and Chris Newton.

Started every game at short as a senior captain in 2013, leading the team to a AAA Liberty District regular season and tournament championship ... Led the district with 26 RBI as a junior, and was selected as the Virginia Stars Co-Hitter of the Month with brother, Josh in April 2012 ... Was the only sophomore on the varsity squad in 2011, making five starts ... Also earned three letters in football, playing tight end and wide receiver for Stone Bridge ... Earned First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Area honors as a junior in 2012 after tossing a complete-game shutout in the county tournament game on the road ... Led Pingry to a conference championship as a senior tight end and linebacker ... Earned all-conference and all-area distinctions in football ... Was named Special Teams Player of the Year in 2011 and Mr. Big Play in 2012 ... Coached by Brien Miller at Sycamore, Larry Redwine at Cincinnati Hills and Ted Corvino, Jr. at Pingry ...
