Kevin Broadus

Position:
Assistant Coach

Kevin Broadus joined the men's basketball staff at Georgetown University in June 2011, his second stint with the Hoyas. He rejoined the staff as a special assistant to Coach Thompson and was named an assistant coach in June 2012.

Boadus brings more than 20 years of coaching and recruiting experience to Georgetown. Remaining in the District for most of his professional career, he has coached at five universities in the metro area.

Broadus was the head coach at Binghamton (N.Y.) University for two years, helping to lead the Bearcats to an America East Tournament Championship and to an appearance in the 2009 NCAA Tournament. Under Broadus' direction, Binghamton won a school record 23 games that season.

A native of the D.C. region, Broadus played high school basketball at Dunbar in the District and Montgomery Blair in Silver Spring, Md. He left the area for one year to play at Grambling State in Louisiana, but returned home to attend Bowie State, where he lettered for three years and earned his bachelor of science in business administration in 1990.

Following graduation Broadus served as assistant coach at Bowie State until 1993, when he returned to D.C. as an assistant at the University of the District of Columbia, where he stayed until 1997. While coaching at UDC, he earned his master's degree in counseling in 1995.

From 1998 to 2001, he was on the staff at American University. Broadus was an assistant at George Washington University from 2001-04 before joining the Georgetown staff as a member of Thompson's original staff.

In addition to his extensive coaching experience, Broadus has worked as a summer camp coach and counselor for both the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks. He also served four years as a research assistant at the National Institute of Health.

Broadus and his wife, Belinda, have four children, Nicol (27), Milan (20), Paris (18), and Kevin Jr. (17).
