WASHINGTON - Junior forward Nate Lubick's (Southborough, Mass. / St. Mark's) first career double-double led the Georgetown men's basketball team to a 68-56 victory over St. Johns on Saturday at Verizon center in front of 15,625 fans. Lubick's double-double featured a career-high 16 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

It was the fourth-straight win for the Hoyas, who improve to 16-4 overall and 6-3 in the BIG EAST. St. John's falls to 14-8 overall, and 6-4 in the league. This was the 99th contest between the two schools, of which Georgetown has won six out of the past seven games.

Three other Georgetown players followed Lubick into double-digits as sophomore guard Jabril Trawick (Philadelphia, Pa./ Abington Friends) put up 12 points and grabbed five rebounds, junior guard Markel Starks (Accokeek, Md. / Georgetown Prep) added 12 points and four rebounds, and sophomore forward Otto Porter had 11 points and seven rebounds.

The Hoyas managed to hold St. John's leading scorer, D'Angelo Harrison scoreless from the field (0-12). Harrison, who is currently the second-leading scorer in the Big East, only had 2 points tonight, despite a season average of 19.7.

Georgetown closed the first half with an 11-point lead (39-28) over St. John's. After having shot 5-of-5 from the field, Lubick already had 10 points and five rebounds.

The Hoya's next game will be played away next Saturday, February 9, against Rutgers. Tip-off is slated for noon, and the game will be shown live on MASN.
