Georgetown vs. Savannah State
November 12, 2011

John Thompson III Quotes

On Savannah State's 5-0 run to start the second half...
"It was an awful start to the second half... we came out and gave up a wide open shot and come down (on offense) and had a turnover. You know, took a quick time out and had a little conversation. The conversation had nothing to do with x's and o's."

On Georgetown's Henry Sims performance ...
"Henry Sims was good today... Henry needs to just make hustle plays. The effort he gave today, going after rebounds and a couple blocked shots, you know, his points came off effort plays as opposed to worrying about shots. He took an awful shot in the first half... Henry doesn't need to think about scoring he needs to let his effort (take over), the scorning will come. I thought his effort was very good today."

On Georgetown's freshmen performance...
"I thought they played well. They played very, very well. They all do things. They all can defend, they all can make shots. They give you different things - it's not about just putting the ball in the basket. Otto (Porter) and Greg (Whittington) were very good today they both ended up with a full stat line, included a couple blocks."
