Head Coach John Thompson III

On Georgetown's quick start...
"They quickly got right back into it, so it was all for naught in many ways. I don't think it was a function over the team's feelings over the Alabama win, we just are finishing a difficult stretch with three games in six days, so you put the schedule together and you hope it turns out like it did. But now we have a week where we don't have any games, but it's a big week in terms of school. Classes end, the semester ends, so this is a big week in terms of catching up with your work. "

On Georgetown's performance on the glass...
"(Rebounding) is one thing that we wanted to do and can do. We are a better team than they are, but I think Jimmy (Engles) has done a terrific job there and you see the progression and I also think you see no matter what the score was, they played hard for 40 minutes and they made us work for 40 minutes. "

On Georgetown's second chance opportunities ...
"I thought we could throw the ball down into the post to different people, which we didn't do enough today, relative to what we wanted to do going into the game. We were hoping if we shot and missed we could second shots."

On Georgetown breaking into the Top 25 rankings next week...
"It doesn't matter, because you have to play the games. For a team that is young like us, they would love to see their name pop-up like that, but at the end of the day you still have to go out and play the games. The rankings are just a popularity contest, it depends on who votes and who doesn't vote, so we just have to play the games."

On what he saw as productive moments from today's game...
"Right now we're focusing on, "can we get better" and today we were able to get extended minutes for guys we haven't been able to get extended minutes for and that is productive. We're going to need those guys once we hit conference play. We're going to need Mikael Hopkins to be comfortable, we're going to need Jabril to be playing at a high level. Tyler showed a little flash, he's still not 100-percent, but big fella showed a little flash of what we're going to see. "

Junior forward Hollis Thompson

On being more comfortable in this game after hitting the game winner against Alabama?
"Not really, that's last game and I put that in the past. I focused on this game. My teammates just got me open and I knocked down shots."

On whether team has shown what he expected...
"Yes and no in different areas. I think defensively for a couple of games now we've come out slow, and we pick it up in the 2nd half. We want to play tough the whole game.

On tying career-high six three-pointers...
"I just found that out right now."

Senior guard Jason Clark

On the intensity of practice...
"We go at each other. Nobody on this team is safe. The young guys go after the older guys, and no one is afraid. But when we step off that court we're still a team."

On rankings...
"No, not at all. I think sometimes the rankings are a worst thing that can happen to a team."

On whether he looks at rankings...
"They're all over the place, you can't miss them. But it's not like I check them.

On whether being ranked will affect how they approach games...
"We're still going to play, how we've been playing for 40 minutes."

On whether team has shown what he expected...
"That's a tough question. Looking back, I thought we would be in this position, 7-1, 8-1. I think this team has the ability to be one of the best teams in the country if we keep playing hard. We have to keep doing what we're supposed to do."

NJIT Head Coach Jim Engles Opening Statement...
"I have the upmost respect for Georgetown...this is a tough team, this is a tough game, this is a tough team for anybody to play at this point. We're not exactly built to play against a team like Georgetown. They're long, they're athletic, they defend, they don't make mistakes, they play tremendous defense. It's hard, you know, my guys have to compete; they have to compete at a higher level in order to be able to stay in this game for 40 minutes. I was happy with the way we played for the first 20 (minutes). I don't think they were really used to their length and we had some problems getting some shots off but the second 20 (minutes) I would have like to see us compete a little bit better. I think we took enough shots...and then we have to rebound the ball better. We have to find a way to get some of those rebounds and we're just not laying the ball in the basket."

On Expectations going into today's Game...
"You never expect to lose by 40. If that was the case, as a competitor, you know, you want to see your guys compete. Georgetown is a tough team to play against. They're not a normal high major team because they do a lot of good things, they play together. Their offense is set up where they play together. Their defense is setup where they play together. So for us... we play some higher level teams and they press you and don't give you opportunities to score or they don't run a lot of offense plays, they don't do a lot of stuff on defense so it makes the game a little more wide open which allows us to get more space which allows us to get easier shots. This is a tough game; I will not be scheduling Georgetown anytime soon."

On Georgetown's Offensive Capabilities...
"They really shot the ball well... I thought we did a decent job. When I watch the film, I'm sure we did some decent things defensively but I thought their length, we were a step slow to close out and you got kid that understand where the shots are coming from and take those shots every day and were a step slow and were a little bit smaller than they are. They're just getting their shots off without being contested. I thought we did a decent job at time, it just wish we competed a little better around the basket."
