CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) Isaac Copeland had 12 points and eight rebounds, and Georgetown held on to defeat Charlotte 62-59 on Tuesday night to snap a two-game losing streak.

The Hoyas (7-5) were coming off home losses to Monmouth and UNC-Asheville, but got 11 points from D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera and 10 each from L.J. Peak, Marcus Derrickson and Reggie Cameron in the win.

Braxton Ogbueze was 5-of-8 from behind the 3-point line and finished with 18 points to lead Charlotte, which has lost seven of its last eight games under first-year head coach Mark Price.

Joseph Uchebo had 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for the 49ers (2-9).

The lead traded hands several times in the second half before Peak put the Hoyas up for good at 56-54 with a huge 3-pointer from the left wing off a set play following a timeout.

The 49ers missed on the other end and Smith-Rivera drove the left side of the lane and scored for an old-fashioned 3-point play to push Georgetown's lead to 59-54 with 1:25 left in the game.

Charlotte would cut the lead to three when Uchebo scored inside and had a chance to take the lead after Smith-Rivera was called for travelling on a drive down the right side of the lane. But the 49ers failed to take advantage, turning the ball over when Ogbueze drove into a cluttered lane and threw the ball away with 25.2 seconds left.

Dickerson made a free throw with 15.3 second left.

Poor shooting plagued the 49ers throughout the game.

They were just 21 of 56 From the field and only 10 of 20 from the foul line.

It was all Georgetown early on.

The Hoyas built a 14-point lead late in the first half before the 49ers came storming back behind Ogbueze, who heated up from long distance to close the Hoyas' lead to 32-29 at the break. The junior guard had four first-half 3-pointers to lead all scorers at the break with 13 points.
