CHICAGO - The Georgetown men's basketball team looks to break a two-game losing streak Tuesday night when it faces DePaul at Wintrust Arena. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. E.T. The Hoyas, who suffered their first road loss Saturday night at Marquette, now stand at 10-3 overall. Both Georgetown and DePaul are 0-2 in the BIG EAST.
Tuesday's game will be shown live on FS1 with Jeff Levering calling the play-by-play and Stephen Bardo serving as the color analyst. The game can be heard locally on 99.1 WNEW-FM with Rich Chvotkin handling the call.
Against Marquette Saturday night, Marcus Derrickson (Bowie, Md,/Brewster Academy [N.H.] contributed a team-high 20 points (17 in the second half) and eight rebounds. Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y./Wings Academy) recorded his ninth double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
In their last outing on Saturday, the Blue Demons lost at Creighton, 77-74, despite holding a 17-point lead. Max Strus matched his career high with 33 points in the game, including six treys. Justin Roberts added 16 points and four rebounds.
DePaul currently stands at 7-7 overall, and 0-2 in BIG EAST play. Strus leads the team with 18.6 ppg and 4.6 rpg.
This is the 38th meeting between the two teams and the 17th as members of the BIG EAST Conference. Georgetown leads the all-time series, 29-8. However, DePaul won the most recent matchup, a 67-65 win in Washington, D.C., on February 22, 2017.
Following Tuesday's game, the Hoyas return home to host Creighton on Saturday, January 6, with a noon tipoff at Capital One Arena.
