Hoyas Remain on Road on Saturday against No. 13 Seton Hall

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown men's basketball team will play its second-consecutive away game this Saturday against No. 13 Seton Hall in BIG EAST play at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Tipoff is set for noon. The Hoyas are seeking their second-straight win after a 69-66 victory over St. John's on Tuesday evening, which advanced them to 12-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

The game can be seen live on FS1 with Brian Custer calling the play-by-play and Sarah Kustok providing the color analysis. The game can be heard locally on WJFK 106.7 FM with Rich Chvotkin handling the call.

Georgetown Falls Short at Seton Hall, 62-59
Georgetown led by three with just over two minutes left, but Seton Hall scored the final six points of the game as the Hoyas lost, 62-59, on Tuesday night at the Prudential Center.

In Tuesday's win over St. John's, junior center Jessie Govan (Queens Village, N.Y./Wings Academy) hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 25 seconds remaining. He tallied his 11th double-double of the season with the team bests of 18 points and 13 rebounds. Junior forward Marcus Derrickson (Bowie, Md./Brewster Academy [N.H.]) added 17 points to go along with eight boards and three steals. Sophomore guard Jagan Mosely (Marlboro, N.J./St. Anthony) rounded out those in double figures as he chipped in 13 points to go with a team-leading five assists.

For the season, Govan leads the Hoyas with averages of 18.1 ppg and 11.8 rpg. His rebounding average ranks tied for third in the country and leads the BIG EAST. Derrickson is second on the team with both categories, coming in at 14.7 ppg and 7.3 ppg.

The Seton Hall Pirates are currently 14-3 overall and 3-1 in the BIG EAST. The Pirates' lone conference loss came in their most recent game on Tuesday at Marquette, 84-64. Ismael Sanogo led SHU with 14 points and six rebounds, while Angel Delgado finished 12 points and 10 rebounds. Desi Rodriguez leads the Pirates in scoring this season with 18.2 ppg, while Delgado joins Govan as the only two players in the BIG EAST averaging a double-double with 14.4 ppg and 11.6 rpg.

This is the 111th meeting between Georgetown and Seton Hall. The Hoyas lead the all-time series, 57-46. However, the Blue & Gray lost the last meeting during the 2016-17 season, 62-59.

Following Saturday's game, the Hoyas will return home on Wednesday night to face the No. 1 Villanova Wildcats in BIG EAST play. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Capital One Arena and can be watched live on FS1 and heard locally on WJFK 106.7 FM with Rich Chvotkin handling the call.
