Fans Attending Tonight's Men's Basketball Game Asked to Exercise Caution due to Water Main Break
Jan. 14, 2009
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Fans attending tonight's BIG EAST Conference matchup between No. 12/13 Georgetown Hoyas and No. 8/8 Syracuse Orangemen should be advised of a water main break near Verizon Center earlier in the day that could complicate traffic in the area and delay entrance into the game. All fans are asked to exercise caution in travelling to tonight's game. A water main break occurred early this morning in Chinatown on 7th Street NW in between G and H Streets NW. The D.C. Water and Sewer Authority is currently working on the repair and they have shut off water supply to areas East of 7th Street NW, which affects some restaurants and a condominium complex. Fans attending the Georgetown vs. Syracuse game tonight, January 14 at 7:30 p.m., are encouraged to take Metro as traffic on 7th Street, H Street, F Street, and 6th Street's NW will be affected. The water main break is expected to be repaired by the afternoon of Thursday, January 15th.
