WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore men's basketball player D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central/Oak Hill) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. It is the second-straight week Smith-Rivera has been recognized by the league and the fourth time this season.

The Hoyas split a pair of games last week, losing at Providence earlier in the week and then bouncing back to beat Butler, 70-67, in overtime.

Georgetown has won three of its last four games and 10 of its last 12 overall. The Hoyas are 11-4 overall and 3-1 in the BIG EAST Conference.

Smith-Rivera averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists, while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor (13-of-26) during the week for the Hoyas.

He scored 18 points, had seven rebounds and five assists in the win at Butler, a homecoming for him as he played in front of more than 40 family and friends in his hometown of Indianapolis. Earlier in the week, he scored 19 points and had five rebounds at Providence.

Overall this season, Smith-Rivera leads Georgetown in scoring, and ranks fifth in the BIG EAST, averaging 17.3 points per game. He is third on the team with 4.9 rebounds per game, second on the team (11th in the BIG EAST) with 3.2 assists per game and first on the team (12th in the BIG EAST) with 1.3 steals per game.

Georgetown closes out a three-game road trip on Wednesday, Jan. 15, visiting new BIG EAST Conference member Xavier. Tip-off in Cincinnati is slated for 7 p.m. The game will be shown live on CBS College Sports, with Andrew Catalan calling the play-by-play and Steve Lappas serving as the color analyst. The radio call of Rich Chvotkin can be heard locally on Sports Talk 570 AM.
