WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's basketball team will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana on Tuesday to face the Butler Bulldogs in a BIG EAST matchup. Tipoff at Hinkle Fieldhouse is set for 6:30 p.m. After Saturday's win over Seton Hall, 83-80, the Hoyas improved to 14-10 overall with a 4-9 record in conference play.

With the game tied on Saturday against Seton Hall, and a one-second difference between the game and shot clock, Jagan Mosely (Marlboro, N.J./St. Anthony) found an open Marcus Derrickson (Bowie, Md./Brewster Academy [N.H.]) on the perimeter as the junior nailed a 3-pointer with just 4.5 seconds left in the game. The shot sealed the 83-80 victory over the Pirates.
Derrickson led the Hoyas with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting and a career high 18 rebounds, tallying his sixth double-double of the season. Derrickson led a trio in double figures as freshman Jamorko Pickett (Washington, D.C./Massanutten Military Academy [Va.]) chipped in 18 points of his own and junior center Jessie Govan (Queen's Villiage, N.Y./Wings Academy) added 11. Govan added seven boards while Pickett recorded two of GU's three blocks on the day.
For the season, Govan leads the Hoyas with 16.7 ppg and 10.0 rpg. Derrickson is second on the team in both categories as he registers 15.8 ppg and 8.2 rpg. In league play, both Govan and Derrickson are ranked second and third, respectively, in the BIG EAST in rebounding. The Hoyas lead the conference in rebounds, averaging 39.5 rpg, and are ranked second in the league in assists (17.5) as well as free throw percentage (.778).
The Butler Bulldogs hold a 17-9 overall record and a 7-6 mark in the BIG EAST. On Saturday, the Bulldogs lost to the No. 1/1 Villanova Wildcats, 86-75. Kelan Martin and Kamar Baldwin combined for 55 points in the loss. Martin finished with 30 points, with a career-best eight three-pointers, and has averaged 30.0 ppg in the last three games. For the season, he leads the Bulldogs with 20.7 ppg and 6.3 rpg, ranking third in the conference in scoring. Baldwin (16.0) and Paul Jorgensen (10.7) round out those in double figures.
This is the 12th meeting between Georgetown and Butler, with the Hoyas leading the all-time series 6-5. The last time the two teams met was earlier this season when the Bulldogs won in a double-overtime nail-biter, 91-89, on December 27 in Washington, D.C.
