WASHINGTON - Georgetown junior guard L.J. Peak (Gaffney, S.C./Gaffney) was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Peak helped the Hoyas last week when the team lost to No. 2 Villanova, 75-64, on the road, and followed that up with an 80-62 win over Marquette at home. The win over the Golden Eagles improved Georgetown’s record to 14-12 overall and to 5-8 in the BIG EAST Conference.
In two games, Peak averaged 20.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds, while shooting 58.3 percent from the floor (14-of-24).
In the loss at Villanova, he scored a team-high 21 points and had six assists. Against Marquette on Saturday, Peak scored 20 points, had five rebounds, four assists and no turnovers.
Overall this season, Peak is second on the team in scoring with 16.6 points per game, leads the team with 3.6 assists and is fourth with 4.2 rebounds.
This is the fifth time this season Peak has been recognized by the league, as he was named the Player of the Week on Jan. 16 and was selected to the Weekly Honor Roll on Dec. 12, Dec. 19 and Jan. 30.
Georgetown is off for a week before returning to BIG EAST Conference action on Sunday, Feb. 18, visiting Creighton in Omaha, Neb. Tipoff at Century Link Center is slated for 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will be shown live on FS1 and can be heard locally on 106.7 FM The Fan.
