WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's basketball team will play Florida State in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) on Monday, March 24 at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Fla. Tip-off for the game is slated for 7 p.m.

Each of the game times and host sites were set following the conclusion of the first round of the NIT on Wednesday night by the NIT committee.
Florida State defeated Florida Gulf Coast, 58-53, in Tallahassee the fourth-seeded Hoyas defeated West Virginia, 77-65, to set up the second round meeting between the Seminoles and GU. The winner of Monday's game between Florida State and Georgetown will meet the winner of Saturday's game between No. 2-seeded Georgia and No. 3-seeded Louisiana Tech with the winner of that game advancing to the NIT semifinals in Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Georgetown and Florida State have met three times prior to Monday night's game, with the Seminoles leading the head-to-head series, 3-0. The last time the teams played was during the 1992 NCAA Tournament, a 78-68 FSU win. The teams also played in 1969-70 and 1972-73, both games played at Tully Gymnasium.
In Tuesday's win over West Virginia, sophomore guard D/'Vauntes Smith-Rivera (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central/Oak Hill) recorded his second career double-double with a season-high 32 points and 10 rebounds to lead three players in double figures. Senior guard Markel Starks (Accokeek, Md./Georgetown Prep) added 14 points, a career-high seven rebounds and seven assists, while junior forward Jabril Trawick (Philadelphia, Pa./Abington Friends) added 12 points, five assists and four rebounds.
Florida State enters Monday's game against Georgetown with a 20-13 record.
