DaJuan Summers declares his eligibility for the NBA Draft

Georgetown University Men's Basketball Coach John Thompson III announced today that DaJuan Summers has elected to forgo his senior season and declare his eligibility for the NBA Draft. Summers, a junior, was the Hoyas leading scorer this season and averaged 13.6 points and 4.1 rebounds.

"We wish DaJuan all the best in his future endeavors, wherever they may take him", said Coach Thompson. "He informed me that he is closing the book on his college career and focusing fully on the opportunity to play professionally. He is in the process of choosing an agent."

Summers scored 1,129 points over 101 games at Georgetown, earning him a tie for 29th on the all time scoring leader list. In addition to averaging 11.2 points per game his three-year career saw him average 4.4 rebounds. He posted a career high in scoring with 24 points vs. South Florida on 2/5/08 and in rebounding with 14 vs. Marquette on 3/1/08.
