WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Men's Basketball Coach John Thompson III will be featured on NBA TV this week as part of the channel's draft coverage on Thursday, June 28.
Thompson will appear on the network's 2012 NBA Draft Preview show on Thursday, June 28 at 5:30 p.m. He will be joined on the show by host Vince Cellini, along with analysts Seth Davis, Greg Anthony, Steve Smith and David Aldridge as they count down to the draft with breaking news, updates and predictions.
Following the draft, Thompson will appear on NBA TV's 2012 NBA Draft Recap at midnight, highlighting all the night's events, including interviews with the top picks.
Thompson led Georgetown to a 24-9 overall record, its third-straight NCAA Tournament and a tie for fourth place in the BIG EAST Conference during the 2011-12 season. The Hoyas have reached the NCAA Tournament in six of the last eight years and played in the postseason every season under Thompson, including two NIT appearances. Georgetown, picked to finish in 10th place in the BIG EAST, posted a 12-6 league record on the way to earning a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament's Midwest Regional.
In addition to the appearance by the current head coach, former Georgetown standout and assistant coach Ron Thompson (AB'92) was on the premiere of NBA TV Draft HQ last week. The show, which aired on Friday, June 22, offered an insider's look of the draft process from the perspectives of a former NBA GM, coach and scout. Thompson appeared on the show along with Cellini, Steve Kerr and Mike Fratello.
On Friday, June 29, Ron Thompson will appear on the NBA Draft Review show, first at 7 p.m. recapping the Eastern Conference and then at 8 p.m. going over the Western Conference.
